LUCIDITY

one night

i dreamed

that you and me

were

we

dancing slow

the shadows of our cheeks

brushing

barely

your voice hummed

like the rev of an engine

passing gently through me

though i couldn't quite

unravel

your tangled words

there was a slur in the sky

drunk off mischief and

imagination

and although i knew

i was asleep

i felt at peace

as the moon

drew mountains around us

sometimes

dreams are better left

as just that

dreams
